AT THE WEDDING by Bryna Turner

In this raucous and bittersweet comedy, a woman named Carlo guides the audience through her ex-girlfriend’s wedding, to a man, and talks to several friends and family members about love, life, and how to cope with both.

Audition form

Opt to submit the contrasting monologues you filmed in the fall at the last 2 General auditions. Those who didn’t film their contrasting pieces, or those who wish to film and submit anew, will need to upload their self-tape by the deadline. For that, prepare 2 contrasting (one comedic and one dramatic) contemporary monologues via self-tape.

Audition applications and self-tapes will be due Wednesday, May 3rd at 11:59pm

The callbacks will be Friday, May 5th 4:30-6:30 in the Studio Theatre in Music and Dramatic Arts Building.

TAKE 9 Film Festival
CALL FOR ENTRIES

The LSU School of Theatre will be hosting the Take 9 Film Festival to be held at the Shaver Theatre in the LSU’s Music and Dramatic Arts Building (MDA) at 7:30 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

This Spring, through a course focused on film festival organization (Theater 3900), the LSU School of Theatre is hosting the Take Film Festival to promote and celebrate the films of all undergraduate/graduate students and alumni from LSU, and students from universities all over Louisiana. 

Eligibility requirements for submission:
1. You must be a current or former student from any Louisiana University. 
2. Films must have been completed between May 2022 or April 28, 2023.
3. Films must be between 30 seconds and 20 minutes in length.  

Following the screenings, awards will be presented for the following 10 categories:
Best Director
Best Cinematography
Best Actor 
Best Actress
Best Editor
Best Production Design
Best Writing
Best Costumes
Best Picture
There will also be an overall Audience award winner and Best Alumni Film chosen live during the night.  

To enter, please complete the online application above and be sure include a link to a Vimeo where your project can be viewed and downloaded.  Remember to include the password if the site is password protected. Upon completion of your submission form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

Festival submissions open on Wednesday March 22, and the deadline is Friday, April 14th. Submissions will be accepted through Wednesday, April 19th but those made after Friday, April 14th are not guaranteed to be reviewed. All submissions should be made by completing the Online Submission Form

If you are selected for the Festival, you will be required provide a festival ready copy of your film and a digital poster for promotional purposes. These will be due no later than April 28th, 2023.
