Scholarship First in Action

For 15 years, the LSU Superfund team has been protecting communities from pollution and leading the worldwide science on environmentally persistent free radicals.

LSU Eunice and LSU Alexandria are leveraging the strength of the statewide university to bring surgical technology training to Central Louisiana.

Julia Cazabon, a medical student at LSU Health New Orleans from River Ridge, Louisiana, is the first to receive full support through the Marcia and Billy Beer Endowed Scholarship Fund to attend all four years of medical school for free, thanks to a historic $7.5 million leadership gift—the largest ever to the LSU Health New Orleans Foundation.

A group of LSU researchers and students is working to make construction faster, more efficient, and less costly by using construction 3D printing — with implications for affordable housing, hurricane recovery, coastal protection, and even space exploration.

LSU welcomed a group of area lawmakers and other leaders to campus on Sept. 19 to showcase the university’s efforts to support the local economy through research, scholarship, partnerships, and talent development.
