Matt Lee Named Interim Executive Vice President & Provost

LSU President William Tate IV has named Matt Lee, who served as vice provost for academic programs and support services, as interim executive vice president and provost. Lee replaces Stacia Haynie, who stepped down from her administrative position to return to faculty in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences.

LSU Announces Acting Vice Provost for Academic Programs & Support Services

LSU has appointed Jacqueline Bach as acting vice provost for academic programs and support services in the Office of Academic Affairs, effective Aug. 3. Bach will continue to serve while a national search is conducted for an executive vice president and provost, a position held on an interim basis by Matt Lee.

Boyd Professorship Regulations Amended

During the March 2021 meeting, the LSU Board of Supervisors approved an amendment to Article II, Section 14 of their regulations regarding Boyd professorships. Boyd professorships are the highest professorial rank given by the University.

James Spencer Named LSU Graduate School Vice Provost & Dean

LSU has named James H. Spencer the vice provost and dean for the LSU Graduate School. Spencer is a professor of City & Regional Planning and associate dean of the College of Architecture, Arts & Humanities at Clemson University, as well as Adjunct Senior Fellow at the East West Center in Hawai’i.
