Audience Policies
LSU Campus Life and its events are funded primarily by student fee dollars of LSU (main campus) undergraduate, graduate, LSU Paul M. Hebert Law School students, and School of Veterinary Medicine students. Campus Life places a priority for its programs and services toward these students.
As a part of the educational mission of LSU, many Campus Life events are open to the general public, including LSU faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.
Accommodations for Persons with Disabilities
Campus Life strives to accommodate audience members with disabilities or medical conditions. Those requiring accommodations should contact the Campus Life office at least 7 days prior to the event. Requests made at an event or less than seven days before an event may not be able to be facilitated. Request accommodations.
Campus Life Organization Meetings & Minutes
Campus Life organizations host open meetings and records (meeting minutes) pursuant to the State of Louisiana Public Records Law, commonly referred to as “Sunshine Laws.” Exceptions for Executive Sessions follow provisions set forth in the Sunshine Law.
Participation Policies by Audience
LSU Undergraduate, Graduate, LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Students (LSU Students)
Most Campus Life events are offered at no admission charge for LSU students who attend classes on the main campus. If Campus Life were to charge an admission price, LSU students would receive the greatest discounted rate. As audience size may be limited in some venues and with some event registrations, Campus Life may place a priority for LSU students in obtaining tickets or event registrations.
Campus Life reserves the right to restrict the number of tickets available per individual in any priority level.
All LSU students should present their Tiger Card LSU ID when asked for event entry or for verification of student status. Students without their Tiger Card may not be admitted to events.
LSU Undergraduate, Graduate, Law Center, and School Veterinary Medicine Faculty and Staff (LSU Faculty and Staff)
LSU faculty and staff may be placed in a second level of ticket pricing or availability. When audience size or event registrations are limited, priority for remaining seats or registrations may include a second priority level for LSU faculty and staff working on the main campus, and a third priority level for general public members.
Campus Life reserves the right to restrict the number of tickets available per individual in any priority level.
General Public, including Family Members of LSU Students, Faculty and Staff
Members of the general public and family members of LSU students, faculty and staff may be placed in a third level of ticket pricing or availability. When audience size or event registrations are limited, a third priority level for general public members may be offered.
Campus Life reserves the right to restrict the number of tickets available per individual in any priority level.
LSU students may be allowed to bring a non-student guest with a valid state or Federal-issued ID to some events restricted to LSU students. Event information will note this option if it is available.
For risk management and liability purposes, general public members, family members or dependents of LSU students may be restricted from participating in some Campus Life events, including service projects and travel.
Minors
Minors below the age of 18 years should be accompanied by an adult or chaperone, unless that person is an LSU student. LSU students below the age of 18 years at the time of an event may need parent/guardian signed waivers to participate in Campus Life service, travel, and other activities with risk and liability concerns. Check event registration materials for specific instructions.
Program Content
Campus Life and its student leaders offer programs for a wide variety of audiences and audience tastes in the LSU community.
For open-air venues, Campus Life restricts content to a “PG-13” rating or “radio-friendly” lyrics.
For events with content exceeding these ratings, Campus Life will host the event inside a facility and post information about audience restrictions or content warnings at the entrance.
Campus Life reserves the right to deny entry to persons below 17 years age or younger to films with an “R,” “NC-17” or “X” rating, with an exception for currently-enrolled LSU students.
Program Environments
Campus Life promotes an alcohol and drug free environment at its events and during any LSU-sponsored travel. Should the event environment be disrupted by alcohol or drug use, an LSU Police officer or university official will address the concern.
