As the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for LSU’s College of the Coast and Environment, CC&E, Kathe Falls is responsible for external relations, strategic initiatives, marketing and communications, and institutional support.

Much of her career has been in international economic development where she helped to create and retain jobs through international commerce. She served as Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Department of International Trade and the Executive Director of International Commerce at Louisiana Economic Development. One of her biggest accomplishments to date has been the creation of an alliance of competitor organizations at the federal and state level to seamlessly deliver client services for export programs. This became a national model of successful collaboration and was recognized for its effectiveness in export promotion. She led the team that received two presidential E-Star Service awards (presented by President George W. Bush and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker) and she was named the Governor’s International Individual of the Year.

Falls joined CC&E in 2016. Here, she applies her skills to help prepare students for successful careers and future endeavors while working to enhance stewardship of a healthy, resilient, and sustainable environment.

Throughout her career, she has served on numerous boards of directors including the Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee on Trade, U.S. Trade Representative, Washington, DC; State International Development Organizations, Washington, D.C. (Board Member, Vice President, President, Past President); Appalachian Regional Commission Export Trade Advisory Council, Washington, D.C.; Atlanta District Export Council, Atlanta, GA (Vice Chair); Southern Growth Policies Board, Southern Global Strategies Council; and the Trade and Transportation Advisory Council, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Jacksonville, FL. She is active in the Baton Rouge community, serving as Membership Chair and First Vice President of Quota Baton Rouge, an organization that assists disadvantaged women and children and those with speech and hearing difficulties.
