Research Interest

I am a trained veterinarian, pathologist, and molecular virologist. My research project involves developing novel animal herpesvirus vectored vaccines against other bovine and swine viral diseases.  My current research interests are i) Studying the molecular basis of Alphaherpesvirus pathogenesis using bovine herpesvirus 1 and its natural host, cattle, as a surrogate model, ii) Developing animal herpesvirus vectored vaccines against other viral infections in cattle, sheep, pigs, and horses. Besides my research goals, I am also passionate about educating future veterinarians and training graduate students.

Teaching Interest

Molecular Virology, Pathogenic Mechanism of Viral Diseases
