Senior College Admission & Residency Requirements

Each LSU senior college has specific requirements and procedures for admission into the college. These could include a specific number of credit hours earned, GPA, or credit in courses and these requirements vary by senior college and major.

In addition, these colleges have graduation conditions (Residency Policies) which require students to complete a certain number of credit hours as a resident of the respective senior college. Review the chart below for information on LSU senior college admission requirements, application procedures, and residency policies:

Important Notes:

  • The requirements listed below are based on the 2022-2023 Catalog Year and could adjust in the future. If admission requirements change students are held accountable to the new requirements of the college.
  • Admission into a senior college often requires both a specific LSU and Overall GPA. The LSU GPA is calculated based on any coursework completed at LSU A&M or any other LSU institution. The Overall GPA is calculated based on coursework completed at LSU A&M and any other institution.
  • Students are not able to change colleges mid-semester. Students can request admission into a new college after the posting of final grades and by the last day to add classes. Please review the LSU Academic Calendar for semester specific deadlines.
