Scholarships for Current Students
LSU’s College of Engineering offers more than 600 scholarship awards to its engineering, computer science, and construction management students. Scholarships for entering freshmen are limited, but as you advance in your academic career, you become eligible for more scholarships based on your GPA, major, and extracurricular activities. The baseline criteria for CoE scholarships is full time enrollment in a CoE curriculum, a cumulative GPA of 2.0, no current scholastic warning or probation, no current SAA probation for academic misconduct, and, for previous CoE scholarship recipients, completion of stewardship activities. Many CoE scholarships have eligibility requirements above these baseline requirements, such as limiting to a specific degree program, state or parish residency, and higher minimum GPA, to name just a few.
New Scholarship Application and Award Software
LSU has launched new scholarship software (“BAM”) that allows students to apply for LSU and most College of Engineering scholarships in one place: https://lsu.academicworks.com/. Each year, students will apply for scholarships from October 1 – April 1 for the next academic year. Students selected for scholarships will typically be notified by June 1. Students who receive a CoE scholarship are required to complete stewardship activities (recipient questionnaire and donor(s) thank you note) to maintain scholarship eligibility.
The Scholarship Process
Students can access the scholarship software at https://lsu.academicworks.com/ and log in with their myLSU/PAWS password and ID. Students will be directed to complete the LSU and College of Engineering applications; when these are completed, the student may be directed to a list of other scholarships for which they may be eligible. Click on a scholarship’s name to see the criteria and apply for that scholarship, if eligible
