This week's project update focuses on the Manager role within Workday. A Manager role in Workday is given to positions that have supervisory responsibilities and therefore can perform actions on members of assigned supervisory organizations.
How Workday Affects You (6/15/2016)
While some of the terminology differs only slightly from what we are accustomed to today, Workday introduces a variety of new terms and acronyms. Some examples of new terms include a "payslip" currently known as "payroll deposit slip." A "spend authorization" is comparable to an "authorization to travel."

This week’s project update provides an overview of Workday security roles. As LSU started the Workday project, we relied upon a set of guiding principles to direct our path. The most important of which was that we would implement business practices and procedures as delivered by Workday, even when it meant changing our current business processes. We assigned security roles in accordance with the guiding principles which resulted in some changes to our current business practices.

May Project Update
The LSU Workday Project is completing its testing phase with payroll parallel testing which runs through the end of May. Efforts are underway to roll out informational and training resources for the LSU community.
Academic Withheld Changes
The July 1, 2016 implementation of Workday at LSU is affording faculty the flexibility to directly manage the distribution of their pay and will allow faculty to have direct access to their money.
April Project Update
The LSU Workday Project is still in the midst of its extensive testing phase. The project team is finalizing the end-to-end testing with a review of the features and functionality that Workday is incorporating into its product as part of its twice a year product upgrades.
HR Transactions and Processes Timeline
A moratorium period will be enacted on all transactions in HRS to ensure the proper conversion of data and to verify accuracy during the transition. Thus, no personnel transactions may be entered in HRS by departments between May 28th and July 1st, with the exception of retroactive changes in source of funds (XCSF).
