Biography

I graduated with my PhD in Sociology from the University at Albany (SUNY) in 2019. While I have been teaching at LSU since 2017, in 2019, I was hired as a full-time instructor. Teaching is my passion and I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach at LSU and connect with fantastic students! As an instructor, I am committed to working with students to teach them about the sociological perspective and help them develop their sociological imaginations. I am also committed to online teaching. I have been teaching fully online courses since 2013 and am the Program Director for the BA in Sociology for LSU Online. My specialty areas are families and aging, and I have taught numerous courses in those areas including: Introduction to Sociology (2001), Sociology of Marriage and Family (2505), Sociology of Aging (4531), Sociology of Gender (4521) and Death and Dying (3701). During my teaching career, I have also taught courses including: Research Methods, Criminology, Poverty in the United States and Medical Sociology.
