Kappa Alpha Psi is the second oldest incorporated national collegiate Greek-letter fraternity in the National Pan-Hellenic Council. The fundamental purpose of Kappa Alpha Psi is ACHIEVEMENT in every field of human endeavor. Since its founding by ten young men, the fraternity has never limited membership based on color, creed, or national origin. Kappa Alpha Psi is a major contributor in the fields of political, social, cultural, and scholastic achievement. The fraternity sponsors programs providing and promoting community service, social welfare, and academic scholarship. The Nu Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was established at Louisiana State University on February 12, 1988. Following over twenty years of success, Nu Iota has produced over 90 members contributing to the LSU and Baton Rouge communities.
