Graduate Specialization in Children & Youth Services

This specialization is available only to currently enrolled MSW students. Social work practice with children and youth is among the largest of the professional fields of social work. Children are an especially vulnerable population, and their well-being and protection are among the highest social priorities

Graduate Specialization in Gerontology

This specialization is available only to currently enrolled MSW students. The National Institute on Aging estimates the need for 70,000 social workers in older adult services by 2020. Given these statistics, social work professionals require current knowledge about a broad range of fundamental issues that encompass the older adult experience.

Graduate Specialization in Social Work Practice in Schools

This specialization is available only to currently enrolled MSW students.  There is an increased demand for highly trained school social workers, as schools are becoming overwhelmed with students’ needs. Increased reports of suicide, self-harm, bullying, anxiety, depression, and community unrest leave many students vulnerable and without adequate services.

Graduate Specialization in Policy & Macro Practice

This specialization is available only to currently enrolled MSW students. Professionals skilled in the fundamental areas of macro practice and connected to the concerns of people often excluded from decision-making are needed to support informed policy making and program administration across sectors, including child welfare, healthcare, gerontology, mental health, immigration and criminal justice.
