In addition to providing numerous scholarships to current LSU Engineering students each year, the College of Engineering also has several competitive scholarships available to qualified first-year engineering students.
The application for admission to LSU and supporting documentation is used to determine eligibility for College of Engineering scholarship opportunities for incoming freshmen. Eligible students may be invited to submit additional information for consideration. Scholarship offers will be made by mid-March.

The list of scholarships above were created by our generous donors and alumni in order to support and inspire tomorrow’s engineering leaders. Each of these scholarships is valued at $2,500/year for up to four years, totaling $10,000 throughout a recipient’s college career. Students with outstanding academic and personal records will be considered for these awards and must be committed to pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Computer Science.
The Chevron Energy Leaders Scholarship
The Chevron Energy Leaders Scholarship is made possible by Chevron’s continued financial support of LSU College of Engineering students. These scholarships are valued at $5,000/year for up to four years, totaling $20,000 throughout a recipient’s college career. Students with outstanding academic and personal recrods will be considered for these awards and must be committed to pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Construction Management, or Computer Science. Priority consideration will also be given to applicants who indicate an interest in the energy industry.
The Ronald E. and Cecilia M. Rinard Scholarship
The Ronald and Cecilia Rinard Scholarship is highly selective and is awarded annually to a small group of students committed to majoring in either Petroleum Engineering or Environmental Engineering. This award is valued at $12,000/year for up to four years, totaling $48,000 throughout a recipient’s college career.
