Get Involved
You don’t have to look beyond your front door to get involved on campus! Here are a few ways on-campus residents make the most of life on campus.
Residence Hall Association
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the representative governing body of all on-campus residents, and works in collaboration with the Department of Residential Life by reviewing policies and recommending changes to enhance the on-campus experience for students living on campus. RHA student leaders have the opportunity to travel to conferences, present at national meetings, and get involved on regional and national levels.
National Residence Hall Honorary
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a leadership-based honor society of student leaders living on campus. The organization works to recognize the achievements of students living on campus and others working in the Department of Residential Life. Members of LSU RHA and LSU NRHH have the opportunity to travel to conferences that enhance their experience in addition to their work on campus.
Community Council
Each residence hall and apartment community has a Community Council – composed of student officers elected by on-campus residents – that represents each hall during RHA general assembly meetings, plans social and educational programs for its community, and works with the community’s professional staff to improve the quality of life for residents.
Dance Marathon
Dance Marathon at LSU is LSU's largest philanthropic, student-run organization supporting the children and families of Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital. Each residential community has a team, so join FOR THE KIDS!
Resident Assistants
Resident Assistants (RAs) are carefully selected upperclassmen students, trained by the Department of Residential Life to develop a safe and positive living and learning experience for on-campus residents. RAs create programs to build resident interactions and are the primary resource to on-campus residents. Click here for more student employment opportunities.
