Get Your Tiger Card

Submit your photo for your Tiger Card by mid-July. Make sure to bring your Tiger Card on your Move-in Day since it's how you access your building!

Submit Loft Preferences

Use this form (closed now) to let us know how you want your bed lofted by July 15. If you don't submit a request prior to move-in, just go to your community's front desk when you move in to make the request in person.

Packing Prep

Read the Living on Campus Handbook for all policies and procedures, what's allowed and what to leave at home, and safety and security measures in place on campus.

Use our packing guide as a helpful checklist!

Try to pack items in boxes, storage tubs, or durable, easy to carry bags to make the move-in process easy for you. Label each item with your First initial, last name, room number, and tally of boxes. For example, Mike the Tiger in Herget 212 with 5 boxes would label his items with "M. Tiger, Herget 212, Box 1/5, Box 2/5," etc.

Rolling carts are available for use, however you are encouraged to bring a hand truck, dolly, or wagon to use. You and your guests are responsible for moving items into your room.

Print Your Hang Tag

Check your inbox in early August for your printable Move-in Day hang tag. This hang tag is the only way you are allowed on campus and into the Move-in Day staging area on River Road at your move-in day and time.

Print one hang tag per car. Each student can have a maximum of two vehicles. Photocopying or printing extra copies of hang tags is not permitted.

If you don't have access to a printer, just let us know and we'll mail it to you or tell you how to get one on campus the day you move in.

Position your hang tag on your vehicle's rear view mirror with the date, time, and barcode facing the front windshield. Each student can bring up to two (2) cars. If you have a third car,  you need to park it in a perimeter lot on campus before coming to the staging area. A third car will not be allowed into the Move-in staging area.

Arrive at the Move-in Day staging area, Levee Lot 412 on River Road, no more than 15 minutes before your move-in time.

Early birds will be redirected to the exit lane to wait for their time.

Late arrivals will be accommodated as possible.

Pull up to the welcome tents where you will exchange your hang-tag for a building-specific hang tag.

Oversize vehicles, cars with trailers attached, and box trucks should use the far right-hand lane in the staging area.

From there just follow the directional signage and friendly faces to get in the correct lane for your building and then from the staging area to your residence hall or apartment unloading zone.

At your community's unloading zone, guests can begin unloading cars while the student enters the building to check in.

Rolling carts are available for use, however you are encouraged to bring a hand truck, dolly, or wagon to use. You and your guests are responsible for moving items into your room.

After cars are unloaded, they must be moved to parking areas throughout campus that do not interfere with move-in routes. Guests can then walk back to their student's community and rejoin the group.

Bring down all trash and flattened cardboard boxes to the trash and recycle dumpsters outside the building.

Request to have your bed height adjusted at your community's front desk.

You will drive straight to your community's unloading zone. The River Road staging area is only used August 12-14, 2022.

Position your hang tag on your vehicle's rear view mirror with the date, time, and barcode facing the front windshield. Each student can bring up to two (2) cars. If you have a third car,  you need to park it in a perimeter lot on campus before coming to your unloading area.

Arrive at your community's unloading zone no more than 15 minutes before your move-in time.

At your community's unloading zone, guests can begin unloading cars while the student enters the building to check in.

Wheeled carts will be available. Please return them to the lobby after use so they can be cleaned for the next Tigers moving in.

If you go shopping or go to dinner with your family, that is fine. If you leave campus, be prepared for traffic congestion when you return during the day when other students are moving in.

Welcome Week begins after you move-in. LSU Enrollment Management and Orientation will send detailed schedules to you about all the Welcome Week activities.
