Resident Assistants (RA)

LSU Resident Assistants (RAs) are live-in service providers, leaders, role models, and community builders. As one of the premiere student staffing positions on campus, RAs are carefully selected, placed on a staff team, and trained by the Department of Residential Life staff to develop an inclusive and engaging experience for on-campus residents. RAs create programs that enhance community, serve residents’ personal and academic needs, build positive relationships with residents, and create a safe environment where residents have opportunities to grow holistically.

College can be a challenging transition for residents at all levels, and RAs should be role models and advocates for various campus resources. Your role as an RA is to know the residents in your community on a personal level, provide them with resources and support, and be excited for their successes. Don’t miss out on this experience to serve and care for others, add to your resume, have fun, and experience something that is more than just your average job!
