Gate Project Updates

Dear LSU Community, 

In an effort to promote safety and efficiency on campus, Parking and Transportation Services recently launched an initiative to upgrade and replace all of the gate access devices on campus.  

The installation phase of the project that began in February 2020 was recently completed.  We are now beginning the process of bringing the gates online and into service. We will continue this work of bringing the new access devices online a couple at a time until all gates are online and operational.  During this transition period we will be troubleshooting each gate as it is brought online and put into service.  Once we are confident the gate is operating efficiently and effectively, the gate will be put into full operation. 

As always when launching a new system, there may be issues that need to be addressed.  Rest assured we are working diligently to address all of these issues in a timely fashion.   If you experience issues with an access gate on campus, or experience issues accessing your assigned lot in the core of campus, please call Parking and Transportation Services at 225-578-5002.

If you have not picked up your new gate access device, please visit the Parking and Transportation Services office during our regular business hours (Monday - Friday / 8:00 am - 4:30 pm). If you have misplaced your access device and need to purchase a replacement, you can pick up a replacement from our office. Please be advised you will be assessed a $30.00 replacement fee at the time of pickup.  

If your department is hosting an event that requires the use of a specific gated parking area, please coordinate with Parking & Transportation Services to minimize conflict in schedules.
