Biography

Nolde Alexius' English 2000 special emphasis course, Our Built Environment, is designed to promote the research and writing interests of all LSU academic majors and minors. Her English 2025 special emphasis course, LSU Fiction, features the history of literary life at LSU. She also teaches courses in LSU Online. Ms. Alexius serves the English department as faculty advisor for the undergraduate Creative Writing Club. She is an active participant in Communication Across the Curriculum, having served as Writing Instruction Specialist in both College of Art + Design Studio and Studio 151. She is the recipient of the LSU English Department Instructor Professional Development Award and Tiger Athletic Foundation Outstanding Instructor Award. She has advised undergraduate English independent studies in Magical Realism and the writing of the novella, an Honors College thesis in the publishing industry, and served as a member of graduate theses in photography. Her short stories have been published in "The Southern Review" and other literary journals. She is the recipient of the Poets & Writers, Inc. Writers Exchange Competition in fiction and Louisiana Division of the Arts Mini-Grants in Literature. She is the co-editor of Best of LSU Fiction ("The Southern Review," 2010), a short fiction anthology. At West Baton Rouge Museum, she curated the exhibit "The Collectible Life of Mignon Faget." She is a Certified Associate in Project Management.
