New Employee Orientation
Employees eligible for benefits have 30 days from the date of hire (or date of eligibility) to complete enrollment documents and submit them to the Office of Human Resource Management. Therefore, as a new employee, you are encouraged to attend New Employee Orientation within two weeks of your start date. New Employee Orientation will provide you with information on LSU, employee benefits, retirement plans and a variety of campus resources. In addition, you will register & receive your parking tag, and have the option to take a bus tour of our beautiful camps. Lunch is provided courtesy of The Club at LSU Square Union.
New Employee Orientation is held every other Monday. Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. Orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes by 2:30 p.m. Please bring a picture ID and a pencil/pen with you.

Registration is required by 4 p.m. on the Thursday prior to Orientation. Being placed on the waiting list does not ensure a reserved spot in Orientation.

Online New Employee Orientation (optional)
The Office of Human Resource Management is excited to offer an Online New Employee Orientation for newly hired faculty and staff.
In this training, you will be introduced to many of the resources you will need as a new employee here at LSU. The Online New Employee Orientation is designed to provide a supplemental resource to the in-person orientation, not a replacement. At the conclusion of the Online New Employee Orientation, you will be able to:
- Recall your employment type
- Recognize your pay schedule
- Review available benefits, and
- Identify your retirement plans
