LSU International Programs Office Announces Rebranding

May 15, 2024

This week, LSU’s International Programs Office is excited to announce that it is rebranding and reorganizing. The office, which creates mutually beneficial opportunities and partnerships by connecting LSU to the world, is aligning its name and functional units to better reflect its scope of work. The list below provides a quick overview of the name and unit changes:

  • Our International Programs Office is rebranding to the Office of Global Engagement to emphasize the ways we actively expand and enrich LSU’s global network.
  • The Academic Programs Abroad unit will rebrand to Study Abroad, a name that is easily recognizable (and searchable) by students ready to expand their horizons.
  • International Services will be reorganizing into two specialized units to serve their distinct client populations.
    • International Student Services will specialize in our global students’ needs.
    • The International Faculty & Scholars Office will specialize in serving our global employee and visiting scholar populations.
  • The International Cultural Center will be rebranding to the Global Community Center to better reflect its role in engaging and connecting international and domestic LSU students and community members through programming and services.
  • Currently, the Global Partnerships unit will retain its name.

Along with the rebranding, the Office of Global Engagement has refreshed its online presence. Please note that our website and social media accounts have changed; you can now find us on the following platforms:

LSU’s Senior Internationalization Officer and Executive Director of the Office of Global Engagement, Samba Dieng, shared his thoughts on the rebrand: “Thank you to everyone who has partnered with us under the title of International Programs. We’ve already built an incredible global network and elevated LSU’s reputation as a global university. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together next as the Office of Global Engagement.”
