The Sponsored Projects module of GeauxGrants is for proposal development, tracking and award processing for externally funded grants. While faculty will be able to use proposal development to build and submit their projects, proposal tracking and award processing will only be handled by grant administrators.
Seven (7) Day Lead Time for Review
The Office of Research & Economic Development has approved an extended lead time of seven (7) business days for the routing of all proposals to OSP for review and approval. This is in anticipation of delays in proposal preparation, review and processing due to the new and unfamiliar system. Lead times will be reduced as all users become more familiar with GeauxGrants.
Key Transition Dates
- December 18, 2019: Proposals with deadlines on or before January 1, 2020 must be routed in SPS no later than COB December 18, 2019 for submission on or before December 23, 2019. Proposals with deadlines between January 2-9, 2020 must be routed early using SPS with the routing to occur no later than COB December 18, 2019.
- December 24, 2019: SPS will only be available for view-only access. Users will not be able to enter or edit data in the system. Historical data has been migrated into GeauxGrants and will be available for reference through the new system.

How-To Guides for Sponsored Projects
A collection of "how-to" documents covering the major elements of the GeauxGrants Sponsored Projects module. They include overviews of proposal development, award management, and their respective review processes, as well as guides for creating proposals, budgets, cost sharing, and subawards.
Workshops & Training
Training for faculty researchers will be available on a per-college or per-department basis. OSP will offer onsite orientation and training sessions upon request. While faculty are strongly encouraged to request assistance from their departmental grant coordinators as they begin to develop proposals in GeauxGrants, OSP will also hold training and ongoing open labs throughout the transitional period for faculty and staff.
