Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Our Commitment to DEI
In pursuit of transparency and accountability, the School of Theatre actively engages in efforts to create a school culture centered around racial equity and inclusion. Our need for change has been informed by alumni and current students who have shared their own experiences and contextualized by broader shifts in American society.
We have created this hub for information on our ongoing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts. We know that these are only initial steps and that our efforts must be continually centered around achieving meaningful and transformational change within the School of Theatre to ensure that we achieve our goals of racial equity, inclusion, and justice.

Alliance for the Future Taskforce
The School of Theatre has established the Alliance for the Future: Dismantling Bias and Racism in the School of Theatre Task Force to develop a deliberate and definable action plan to advance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion as strategic priorities within the School of Theatre. The Task Force will use a transparent and inclusive process to engage all members of the School of Theatre community to create an infrastructure which embeds the values of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion across all organizational activities, policies and processes. The action plan will support systemic change which is both sustainable and promotes a system of shared accountability to create a culture of racial equity, inclusion and justice within the School of Theatre.
