Biographical Summary
Dr. Missy Korduner holds a PhD in Human Resource Education from LSU. Before joining the SLHRD faculty in May of 2019, she served in a variety of capacities within higher education for 16 years including residential life, honors student programming, and first year experience. Her areas of expertise include: extended orientation and transition programs; first year student initiatives; program planning and implementation; program assessment and evaluation; student leader training and development; and student advising. She has presented nationally on extended orientation programs and their impact on the student experience from program development and implementation to retention, student satisfaction and student leadership. In addition, she has published on the development of extended orientation programs in the Journal of College Orientation and Transition.
Dr. Korduner is an active member of the Association for Talent Development - Baton Rouge Chapter, where she currently serves as the President-Elect and previously served as the chapter treasurer. Most recently, she served as the Chair for the Gulf Coast Talent Development Conference.
Dr. Korduner has received recognition awards including the Outstanding Experienced Professional from the ACPA Commission for Admissions, Orientation, and the First Year Experience; the Transformational Leadership Award from the LSU Division of Student Life & Enrollment, and the Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Alumna Award.
