Dr. Rosalind Hudson is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School
of Education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She teaches
in the Department of Elementary Education and supervises teacher residents. A dual-certified
K–12 educator in elementary and special education, Dr. Hudson taught in Texas, New
Mexico, Tennessee, and Louisiana.
She has presented her work at local, state, national, and international conferences,
sharing research-based insights for elementary teachers on literacy difficulties with
mathematical word problems. Her scholarship centers on the intersection of literacy
and mathematics, particularly focusing on elementary students' challenges in comprehending
and solving mathematical word problems.
In addition to teaching and researching, Dr. Hudson serves as a peer reviewer for
academic journals in education. Her professional interests aim to support aspiring
and current teachers in developing effective strategies to address literacy-related
barriers in mathematics learning.
