The mission of the archives of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is to collect, preserve, and make accessible those records that have enduring value. These include records documenting the institution, its students, faculty, and alumni, as well as those that illustrate the development of veterinary practice in Louisiana. Also included are collections that reflect the particular interests of individual donors. Highlights include the following:



  • Oral history of the SVM, recorded by the founding dean, Everett Besch


  • DiGiusti Collection - an extensive compilation of parasitology reprints dating from 1865


  • Shaw Collection – a collection of feline themed rare books and vintage postcards
