Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
As of Spring 2016, has 3 EV charging stations on campus (see this map for locations), which were installed as part of a grant from Entergy in 2011. LSU Campus Sustainability aims to promote greenhouse gas reductions in daily campus activities, energy efficiency and work towards a more sustainable campus. The charging stations help us encourage alternative transportation by providing a convenient way for electric vehicle drivers to charge their cars.
Instructions for Use
1. Visit www.chargepoint.com and sign up as a new user.
2. Use the connection code EVEntergy to connect you to LSU.
3. Check for an email from Chargepoint letting you know that you can begin using the EV stations.
4. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any issues.
LSU has partnered with Zipcar, the world’s leading car sharing network, to place five vehicles on campus for students, faculty and staff ages 18 and older, as well as members of the local community ages 21 and over.
The Zipcars have designated parking spots located in front of Laville and in the lots behind Cypress & Kirby Smith for convenient pick-up and return.

- Click on "Join Now"
- Select "Join with a University" (as pictured below) and enter "Louisiana State University" to receive the LSU discount and join LSU's network
LSU has partnered with the Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC) to help promote Geaux Ride, a ride-sharing app aimed at connecting carpoolers to reduce the number of cars in Baton Rouge. To sign up for Geaux Ride, please visit https://geauxride.greenride.com/.
Tiger Trails Campus Transit
With increased seating capacity and improved routes, the Tiger Trails transit system helps decrease vehicle congestion on and around campus. The LSU Tiger Trails Transit System promotes environmental sustainability by using ultra low sulfur diesel, which allows for advanced emission controls. In June 2016, LSU will have 31 new buses, 25 of which will feature an exhaust reduction system, including diesel particulate filters and selective catalytic reducers. These new buses will help LSU's fleet lower greenhouse gas emissions related to transportation on campus. The Tiger Trails bus station has committed to advanced recycling efforts and green cleaning products, as well as proper use, storage and disposal of all waste associated with maintenance activities. Also when passengers choose Tiger Trails instead of driving, they are reducing the number of vehicles on the road, thereby reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions.
