Job Responsibilities:

  • Alumni and Foundation Relations-Supervises data management and correspondence with departmental alumni; updates Alumni records in the TAILS alumni database and runs reports on donor giving to the department.
  • Develop content, layout design, and distribution of the annual Alumni Magazine.
  • Organizes alumni events and work to improve donor relations.
  • Monitors Foundation accounts using BENGALS system. Process check request, expense reimbursements, establishing accounts as needed, and updating scholarship accounts.
  • Corporate Relations-Student Recruitment Program- Assist recruitment programs for student career placement. Works closely with the LSU Olinde Career Center to promote On-Campus Interviews. Presents information and serves as a guide for students to ensure they are knowledgeable of processes and using the Careers2Geaux system. Reaches out to company representatives about hosting information sessions or other events within the department. Follows up with companies and students to gather feedback and track student employment.
  • Facilitates contact between industry representatives and faculty; provides companies with up to date information on department programs and research areas.
  • Assists LSU Corporate and Foundation Relations with visits to campus by company representatives and attends on-campus meetings between the LSU Foundation and corporate partners.
  • Works closely with the department recruiting committee on student recruiting goals and strategies.
  • Develops flyers, brochures, pamphlets, and promotional items to distribute to prospective undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Coordinates department presence at on-campus recruitment events. Organizes the department’s presence at select geological conferences throughout the United States through trade show displays and materials in order to recruit students and connect with alumni.
  • Responsible for all aspects of departmental marketing strategies. Create various campaigns different audiences through print and digital media.
  • Manages and contributes to department social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Serves as webmaster of the department homepage using the OmniUpdate web content management system. Proactively solicits ideas for department news stories from faculty, students, and alumni.
  • Applies knowledge of university admissions policies to solve issues for graduate students. Analyzes graduate application, test scores, and transcripts for completeness. Compile and maintain graduate student records. Maintain knowledge of accounts needed for processing graduate level transactions. Work closely with the graduate school to ensure all graduate related forms are processed and turned in timely.
  • Maintain graduate students database outlining graduate GPA, status, scholarship criteria, etc.
