Office of Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for matters related to the University’s regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and for planning, evaluation, and assessment processes that ensure institutional effectiveness at LSU. To fulfill accreditation responsibilities, the office oversees and coordinates the decennial and fifth-year reaffirmations by SACSCOC, monitors the university’s ongoing compliance with accreditation standards, documents student achievement in keeping with federal requirements, and tracks specialized accreditation of university programs.

To ensure institutional effectiveness, the office facilitates institutional strategic planning, coordinates academic and support unit program reviews, and oversees reporting on assessment of student learning outcomes for all university degrees, certificates, and the general education program. The office is also responsible for conducting and reporting the results of academic program reviews.
