2017 Family Weekend Schedule

Check-In for Family Weekend

Check-in will take place from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 29 in the Main Lobby of the LSU Student Union. If you are unable to check in on Friday, please view two additional options for checking in below. Upon checking in, you will also receive a hard copy of the Schedule of Events, Family Weekend giveaways, and pick up your Family Weekend t-shirts if you ordered them.

NOTE: All families must check in for the weekend’s events in order to receive your Family Weekend lanyards and wristbands, which will grant you access to events throughout the weekend.  You must wear your wristband and lanyard to each of the Family Weekend events in order to participate.

Friday: If your family is unable to attend events on Friday, September 29, you are welcome to send your student to come by anytime Friday to check in and receive your Family Weekend packet during the day.

Late Check-in: If you or your student is unable to check in on Friday, don’t fret!  We will have late check in available for you in the Feliciana Room of the LSU Student Union from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 30. This will be your last opportunity to check in!

At least two nights a week, a professional-grade telescope at HRPO is unlocked to showcase the Baton Rouge sky in all its glory (weather-permitting). This season visitors should expect to see Uranus and Neptune.

Baton Rouge Gallery's popular summer film series, Movies & Music on the Lawn (presented by Whole Foods Market Baton Rouge), will once again pair up iconic silent films with the best local, contemporary bands in our area. Each band will perform a never-before-heard score, live, while the film is projected on a huge inflatable outdoor screen on the lawn behind the gallery. The screenings, which take place inside BREC's beautiful and historic City-Brooks Community Park, begin at 8 p.m. (or sundown–whichever comes last) and admission includes free bottomless popcorn.
